The company, with Head Office in Harsewinkel, Germany, is the European market leader for combine harvesters. CLAAS is the global market leader for another large product group: self-propelled forage harvesters. CLAAS also holds the top spots in global agricultural technology with its agricultural balers and grassland harvesting machines, as well as its tractors. Cutting-edge agricultural information technology implemented by the company plays a large part in its success. CLAAS employs more than 11,400 staff worldwide and in 2020 financial year generated a turnover of 4.04 billion euro.
The company’s history in Russia starts from 1992. In 2003 a combine harvester manufacturing facility was established in Krasnodar. In 2015, the production area was increased by 9 times, and the plant converted to full-cycle production of combine harvesters: from steel sheets to the finished harvester. Total investment into the plant since 2003 is 160 million euro. The plant employs more than 700 persons. Currently CLAAS plant in Krasnodar is considered a systemic company for the Russian Federation and is one of the four largest production plants out of 13 plants of the company around the world. The plant manufactures combine harvesters TUCANO and tractors AXION and XERION.
In 2016 the plant signed a special investment contract with the Russian government. The TUCANO combine harvester produced at the Krasnodar plant is considered to be a product made in Russia. CLAAS Vostok service and sales company in Moscow is responsible for sales, servicing and provision of spare parts for machines manufactured by the CLAAS plant, and also manages the network of dealers and partners within Russia, all the way from Kaliningrad to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk
