YugAgro International Exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary!

YugAgro, the largest international agricultural exhibition in Russia, will celebrate its anniversary in 2023.

The 30th International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery, Equipment and Materials for Crop Production YugAgro will be held in Krasnodar on 21–24 November 2023. In preparation for its anniversary, let us recall the key milestones from the Exhibition’s history.

YugAgro Exhibition — The First Years

YugAgro came to be recognized by the exhibition industry in 2001, when it was granted the mark of the International Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. In 2004, the Exhibition was approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), and two years later, YugAgro received the status of a federal event.

From 2007 to 2014, the total exposition area of YugAgro increased by 15%, and the number of participants — by 10%. In this regard, the Exposition was awarded some prestigious titles, and in 2014, YugAgro became a Russian agricultural exhibition where the full range of products and services for the agricultural industry was presented — from agricultural machinery and spare parts to standardization and automation means.

In the time of its growth, YugAgro not only featured innovations in the fields of equipment, selection, plant protection products, crops storage and processing, irrigation, production and outfitting of greenhouses, but was also involved in projects aimed at development of agriculture in Russia. For instance, YugAgro 2007 featured the “Future of Agricultural Russia” college student competition, with the four largest agricultural higher education institutions of the country taking part. In 2008, the YugAgro business program for the first time featured the International Agricultural Congress, and in 2009, it featured the unique “YugAgro Agro-Rally” PR project.

From Relocation to the Pandemic

The relocation to the modern exhibition centre Expograd YUG Exhibition Venue in 2015 became a major milestone in YugAgro history. In just 4 days, YugAgro 2015 was visited by 15,000+ attendees. From 2015 to 2019, the number of the Exhibition visitors increased by 20%: YugAgro 2019 saw 18,670 agricultural specialists from 47 countries and 72 regions of Russia attending the Exhibition.

It was not uncommon for major cooperation agreements to be made directly at the Exhibition. For example, in 2017 an agreement on development of agricultural technologies was concluded between the Ministry of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar Region, PhosAgro-Region company and Rostselmash company.

‘Almost three quarters of all equipment supply contracts are made here, at YugAgro. Our region has always been keen on technology and innovations. I am happy to see that the Kuban region is still at the lead. We were the leaders in the agricultural equipment sector a hundred years ago, and we are still the leaders today’, said Yuri Burlachenko, Speaker of the Legislative Board of the Krasnodar Region in 2017.

Revival of Business Activity in the Agricultural Sector

In 2020, YugAgro was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but in 2021, after taking this forced break in business activity, once again returned as the country’s business platform unifying manufacturers, suppliers and farmers of Russia and the CIS countries for negotiations, discussions of terms and coordination of supplies before the start of a new agricultural season. More than 640 companies from 25 countries took part in YugAgro 2021, and 14,381 industry specialists from 73 regions of Russia visited the Exhibition.

In 2022, the YugAgro exhibition has once again confirmed its status of the main agrarian event of the year. Over 4 days, YugAgro 2022 was visited by 18,187 agricultural specialists from 75 regions of Russia and 39 states. 600 companies from 12 countries took part in the Exhibition. 33 events were held as part of YugAgro 2022 4-day business program. Agricultural market experts discussed the development of the Russian agro-industrial complex in the new economic conditions, federal and regional support for agricultural manufacturers, and the interaction of state authorities with agricultural holdings and manufacturers.
